Senja Daytour with sightseing
The Arctic Moments
In Tromsø already, and want to see a bit of Senja on a day tour? This is your chance to leave Tromsø in the morning and see some of what the island has to offer in just one day. It is a long day, but we´ll have a good time visiting some of my favorite places on the island. We could even spend the night, and have another day to see even more - it all depends on your time scedule and what you want. Send us a message, and we´ll get back to you with more info.
Explore the Elements
The Arctic Moments
Would you like to get in touch with the elements? Weather is something we have plenty of in the north, and on some days, it can be quite spectacular. Roaring winds, smashing waves, snowstorms, fog, and rain. If you are a photographer or just want to see nature at work, you should get in touch. Since this tour is literally weather-dependent it will run when the conditions meet the criteria. Get in touch for more information.
Meet the Reindeers
The Arctic Moments
Reindeers are facinating animals that live outdoors the whole year even though they are owned by sami families. About half an hour outside Tromsø, there are reindeers walking among the homes of families, between school buildings and next to kindergartens. In the summer, they sleep on the road, and during the winter, some of them gather in a specific area. This is a tour of a few hours best done during the daylight hours to get the best view - and even though we´ll do our best to find them there are no guarantees that they have not suddenly decided to take a walk where we can´t. Get in touch, and we´ll have a nice chat about the possibility on that perticular day.
Tromsø Summer Hiking Adventure
The Arctic Moments
Do a guided hike up one of the mountains outside Tromsø that the locals love. With a guide, you are sure to never get lost, and you get to know the city and the culture in a unique way. The tour is done by professional guides, born and raised in the area who will tell you about life in the world's second-largest city north of the Arctic Circle, and answer any questions you might have. This is your chance to get a crash course in "Northern Norway".
Senja Across - multi-day hike
The Arctic Moments
This is a tour that we would like to do with guests, a tour that requires both planning and preparations. Having done the whole hike on several occasions, and been a lot in the area, we can honestly say that this is one of the best ways to go hiking in Northern Norway. The hike can be done from 2-6 days, depending on how much we want to do, and from 20km to 80km in a landscape described as the average of Norway. You´ll go through lush forests one day, and be in alpine landscapes the next. The possibilities for a quick bath and fishing are endless on nice days. The tour can only take place from the middle of July to the middle of September due to snow conditions and light, and we´ll sleep in tents and sleeping bags. Can be done with as little as two people - get in touch for test tour opportunities in 2025.
Tromsø & Sommarøy - Private coastal tour with a local
The Arctic Moments
This tour takes us to the outskirts of Kvaløya, and to the Sommarøy community. The tour runs from May through August normally, but as it is a day tour we can probably find a spot in September as well. The drive takes us through valleys and fjords, the chance of seeing reindeers is high, and we´ll end up on a beach with a fantastic view towards the open sea. Depending on your scedule this tour can go during the day or under the midnight sun in the evening. You pay for the car with up to 6 guests, and get a guide with firewood and skills to use it. Cheaper than a taxi for sure. Let us know if you cant find a spot on the preferred date, we´ll see what we can do.
Blue Lake hike & Photography
The Arctic Moments
Daytour going to the Blåisvatnet Lake (Blue Lake) in Lyngen outside Tromsø. The tour takes us by car through valleys, by ferry, and through small communities. The hike itself is considered moderate due to the length and rocky terrain - but it is not very hilly. Bring your swimwear for a dip in this extraordinary lake. We leave early morning and are back around 6 pm.
Tromsø Sherpa Stairs
The Arctic Moments
Walk the Sherpa Stairs on the mainland side of Tromsø with a guide who has been using the area since he was a child. The hike is between 3-5 hours depending on how fast we walk, and is very nice under the midnight sun. 1204 stairs takes you up to 420 meters above sea level, and on nice days also to the next peak a bit higher. A fantastic view awaits you, and the toning of the buttocks is all for free.
